Phased return to schools commences according to ministry’s plan

– The first phase of the gradual return of students to their schools for the second semester 2021/2020 began on Sunday, based on a plan drawn up by the Ministry of Education in accordance with the Health Ministry’s protocol.

According to the plan, Kindergarten, early grade and Tawjihi (General Secondary Education Certificate Examination) students will return to the classroom during the first week of the semester, an approximate of about 773,812 students. Higher grade students will follow suit later on.

The Ministry of Education announced earlier that the plan demands the school’s success to meet the health protocol requirements in terms of space allocated to each student inside and outside the classroom, while schools that fail to meet the criteria on social distancing will have a mixture of in-person and distance education.
